Mold Illness and how to spot them

[ad_1]

What is mold? It’s the
non-scientific word for many types of fungi. Fundus comes in many colors
– lack, yellow, green, pink, orange, brown etc.

But one thing is for sure -it is always unwanted, whether it’s outside
or inside your home. If your roof is leaking or you didn’t pay much
attention to the hygiene of your home lately, irrelevant why, you might
notice mold in your home.

Mold Illness and how to spot them

The first thing you notice about having mold in your house is the
specific moldy odor, such as the visible spots on the walls, especially
the corners that are in dark places.

Because mold grows in dark and damp areas, search for it in those kind
of places, such as around your windows, down in you basement, around the
corners of your rooftop, bathrooms and kitchens etc, especially if you
don’t see it, but sense its presence in the air.

Here’s a list of few types of most commonly showed types of mold in the households:

  • Penicillium – though a very famous and commonly used cure has been
made out of this fungus, it can also be harmful, causing allergies and
    asthma
  • Alternaria – can also cause allergies and asthma and can be found in the upper respiratory tract

Stachybotrys – it’s a really
dangerous and toxic black mold, that releases mycotoxins that cause
serious breathing difficulties. It is very harmful because it can lead
to internal bleeding of the lungs.

  • Aspergillus – this fungus can be found in damp and warm climate and is usually connected to home dust.

Mold can affect the human body. And in unwanted ways. The symptoms
mostly are allergies, respiratory diseases, rashes and fatigue.
Most people don’t usually connect the mold as a cause for their
symptoms. However, a scientific study recently conducted showed that
“mold, mycotoxins and other air pollutants contribute to 50% of
diseases.

It’s really important that you determine where does mold come from in order to prevent the development of severe symptoms”.

In the study, several symptoms have been listed as one of the most
common for people affected with mold illness. Here is the list:

  • Shortness of breath, sinus congestion or chronic cough
  • Headache and light sensitivity
  • Weakness and fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Static shocks
  • Unusual skin sensations, tingling and numbness
  • Morning stiffness
  • Abdominal pain, diarrhea and bloating
  • Tearing, disorientation, metallic taste in mouth
  • Difficulty to focus and concentrate

How to treat mold disease?
First of all, clean the mold! We don’t want any other member of your
household to get sick. If you have a history of problems to keep your
house mold-free, you should probably buy an air purifier, because it
helps control the moisture inside your house.

If the mold is black and has affected a really big area – ask for help from a professional cleaning service.
